      Dear friends and colleagues,

Below you can find short overview and photos from the seventeenth international conference National Forum on Maintenance 2017 that took place from 30 to 31 May 2018 traditionally in the hotel Patria at Štrbské Pleso.
The conference from its beginnings in 2000 gradually established and has been keeping a status of a professional event where managers and specialists in maintenance, representatives of leading companies offering services for maintenance, representatives of wide range of industries as well as experts from academic sphere meet together.

The interest in the conference was again confirmed by a high number of domestic and foreign participants. According to the 17th edition list, 228 participants , of which 187 domestic and 41 foreign from Austria 4, from Germany 3 and from Poland, Ukraine and the USA by 1.
An overview of evolution of the number of participants for all the conferences held between 2000 and 2017 is documented in the graph:

Vývoj počtu účastníkov za všetky uskutočnené konferencie od roku 2000 do 2016

The conference programme continued in a well-established model of one and a half-day conference, supplemented by specialized seminars in the afternoon for the second day of the conference. 32 presentations were included in the program, similar to the previous year, to allow more lecture space and discussion.

SU has been awarding SSU prizes for recognition as a contribution to maintenance development almost from the start of conferences. The SSU Award in this year went to doc. Ing. Viera Peťková, PhD., chief of diagnostics at eustream, a.s. and the President of the Association of Technical Diagnostics of the Slovak Republic.
The SSU Award for Diploma Thesis this year was awarded to Martin Štancel, graduate from FEI TU Košice, for the thsis entitled: „Software for Maintenance PErtofmance Audit“, supervied by Ing. Štefan Korečko, PhD. and prof. Ing. Hana Pačaiová, PhD.
